The Journey of Da Silva Steakhouse 🍽️🚀

Our Roots: From Madeira to USA 🇺🇸

Our Roots: From Madeira to USA 🇺🇸
In 1951, Maximiano Barros da Costa left Portugal to work for the Shell Company in the Caribbean Islands of Curaçao. Seeking better opportunities, he moved his family to Venezuela two years later. In the city of Punto Fijo, Maximiano opened a small business called “La Parrilla Picada en Media Pipa,” where he served grilled meats cooked on a half-pipe grill. This humble beginning was the spark that ignited our family’s passion for food and hospitality.

Maximiano moved to Maracaibo, Zulia, for a bigger opportunity. There, he created “Esta es mi Arepa,” serving arepas and chopped parrillas at affordable prices. The restaurant’s success led to a larger location near Avenida Santa Rita in 1964, where it earned the name “Parrillada Familiar.” Under shady mango trees and an urban atmosphere, Maximiano’s homemade salsa verde became a family favorite, drawing people from all walks of life.
